3 DIY Disasters

In Footprints, I show you how to bring life, fun, and flexibility to your setting.

How?

By placing creatures into the world, not just on top of it.

A demonic cult, an eccentric wizard and a family of manticores will each shape the world around them. They’ll leave clues for players to find and have vulnerabilities that their enemies can exploit.

Footprints includes nine such enemies and how they might leave footprints in your setting, whether they’re weak, powerful or they’re just been defeated.

It also talks about three disasters.

These aren’t earthquakes or collapsed dams - these are far-reaching supernatural catastrophes.

Like monsters and cults, each will shape your setting as they rise, appear, then fade away.

I leave it up to you to fill in most of the details. Still, with all the tools in this guide, you have everything you need to foreshadow trickster fae, inflict raging elementals on them or leave them in a world after an apocalypse.

As a source of plot hooks, Footprints is excellent.

As a different way to think about worldbuilding, it’s even better.
